I bring you a message of unholy death

Remember Hydlide? The sounds of banging from your computer from the seizure you’re having right now tells me you do.

I managed to dig up a Hydlide remake, and thanks to some extensive help from Nightwolve, it’s now playable. So I of course could not hold back from taking a shot at translating it.

The game is pretty much done. I just need to finish it off and beat Varalys to make sure the ending works. I’m also writing a simple tool to let you swap out background music from Hydlide 3: The Space Fantasy. Unfortunately, while they remade everything else, they did not remake the BGM. Once you swap out the BGM though, it’s a seriously fun game.

Here’s some pictures of the current state. I could use someone to test it later today (the game shouldn’t take more than two to three hours to beat). There’s some font issues with the intro when you run it in non-Japanese mode right now… maybe someone can look at that later.

Oh yes, an important thing to mention. It has the original Hydlide too. You can swap into the original graphics or arranged graphics using the menu in-game, which is pretty cool.
