Babelfish is not your friend

For anyone asking themselves, “Hey self, why doesn’t this D asshole just run all the scripts through Babelfish? He could give us a patch in a week this way!” I’ll let you decide.

Here’s a sample of text translated by Babelfish:

With the cruelty one day after which it does not want turning round, 10 years the time flowed Hool ccek already. The place where it comes back with here the like that long hour will be necessary and neither imagining did. There is also longed for reminiscence, but that it sees the ground which is the pain which it becomes worse…… the shoe America which will be burnt lu.

Now, we’ll look at the same passage of text, but this time done by a human translator who speaks Korean:

It’s already been ten years since that day I never want to remember … I’d never imagined it would take me so long to return here … To this land which holds great memories … but even greater pain … Shudelmir.

So, if you really believe the first example will make the game playable and understandable for you, please feel free to e-mail me and you’re welcome to waste 12 hours running the scripts through Babelfish to produce a totally incomprehensible patch.

For anyone else, feel free to beat down a few Koreans and make them translate scripts if you want to play this game. Just look for small Kias and Hondas in San Francisco with bumper stickers that read “AzN PrIdE!”

(Mandatory Edit: Actually, you may want to avoid the above mentioned people because usually they don’t speak their native language at all. It would kind of be like randomly asking gangsta thugs if they speak Swahili)
