I’m back and such

It seems Langrisser I is circulating nicely. The torrent is dead but it’s up on eDonkey.

Some bug reports are rolling in but most of them aren’t actually bugs. Here’s the current list:

I’m free!

Langrisser I PC is done and circulating. Try to find the English ISO if you can, since it has the Japanese movie dialogue and remix music, unlike the Korean disk.

If you have the Korean disk already, or that’s all you can dig up, you can use the files in this archive to build your own disk. Of course it will lack the easy installer, default Windows XP support, Japanese language, remix music tracks, etc (in other words, why do it), but if you want to take a crack at building your own disc, this has the files you need and instructions.

I don’t have any time to put up screen-shots, the work is mostly what you’ve seen in older screenshots except with a loads of bug fixed and a lot of script editing. Moon Knight and I have been working non-stop since last week to put this release out there for you today.

Yes, I’m well aware the Langrisser I page still says the game isn’t done. I don’t have time to update it because I’m going out the door right now.

Bug fixes and betas

Today has been mostly a bug fix day on what I’ve done so far. I’m working on a new way to fix the bug that causes character names and classes to be cropped in the status window. I think MK and I will need to do a lot of testing to make sure everything displays correctly.

Next steps are finishing up the last three scenarios, editing, producing an Adobe Acrobat format instruction manual, a new installer and building a new disc for distribution.

All graphical work has been finalized.

Langrisser I PC is 83 percent complete

That is all.

One quick note: If you are interested in translating this game into another language besides English, get in touch with me. Madmalkav already said he’s interested in working on a Spanish or Galician so I’d give him first dibs on those.

If you’re interested in another language though, let me know and I’ll see what I can do about adding the necessary characters into the game font to make it possible.

PSI Rockin’

The countdown continues, now at 91 percent complete …

Since someone asked, here is what has been translated:

Scenario 1, Scenario 2, Scenario 3, Scenario 4, Scenario 5, Scenario 6, Scenario 7, Scenario 8, Scenario 9, Scenario 10, Scenario 11, Scenario 12, Scenario 13, Scenario 14, Scenario 15, Scenario 16, Scenario 17, Lushiris Intro Questions, the Battle Manual, Names List, Items List, Item Descriptions, all System/Menu Text, all Scenario Prologues/Objectives and all Character Epilogues

What’s left? Scenarios 18, 19 and 20. And don’t worry, everything done so far is already in MK’s hands so in the event of a terrible computer crash (por ejemplo, when Detroit Edison’s power surge blew out my hard disk last week), this work will not be lost.

Sorry for any typos which may be in this post, but I’ve been up since this time yesterday and haven’t taken any breaks from translating since then so my eyes are quite shot.

Babelfish is not your friend

For anyone asking themselves, “Hey self, why doesn’t this D asshole just run all the scripts through Babelfish? He could give us a patch in a week this way!” I’ll let you decide.
