Specialist Works
This page contains information about my professional works. My primary specializations are media works, especially copy editing and layout, and China. I have a secondary interest in English education with a focus on composition techniques. I hold Bachelor of Arts in journalism and sinology (technically, East Asian studies with a focus on China) granted by Oakland University in 2005.
My work experience includes one year as a special lecturer at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), the country’s only higher education institute under the control of the Foreign Ministry instead of the Ministry of Education. During my time, I taught English composition courses for the school’s sophomore English degree majors.
Following my CFAU employment, I was hired by Beijing Today, the only English-language Beijing local newspaper. Beijing Today is owned and operated by the Beijing Youth Media Group Co. I work as one of the two permanent English copy editors and am directly responsible for the linguistic quality of roughly half the newspaper.
I currently live in southern Chaoyang District, Beijing, very close to the Dong Erhuan Lu and Guangqumen Wai Dajie intersection.

Please be aware that Beijing Youth Media Group has some errors with their digital archive. Typographic errors which appear on the web version of the newspaper are not present in the print edition.

Class Materials
Hand-out and syllabuses from my university courses are available online. While I am no longer teaching these courses, the materials may be useful to others studying English or preparing courses on composition.
Beggar Prince
Beggar Prince was a commercial game translation which I did the programming for. The English edition was licensed and sold by SuperFighterTeam, a company which brings classic Chinese video games to the English market.
